Get advice from your dentist

Cut down on sugar
Our bodies don’t need processed sugar, and even natural sugars should be kept to a minimum. Not only will your waistline thank you for it, but your teeth will be very happy not to be receiving as much sugar too. Think about foods and drinks which contain a lot of sugar – fruit juices, fizzy drinks, chocolate, candy and cake are all on the list of main culprits in our cupboards. Don’t just brush your teeth

Make an effort to see a hygienist
As well as your regular appointments with the dentist, you should also book yourself some appointments with the dental hygienist. You should see a hygienist once a year or so – they will be able to clean up your teeth and other areas of your mouth and also provide expert advice about other ways you can look after your oral hygiene and improve it. You might pay a fair bit for these appointments, but you don’t need them more often than once every 6-12 months and your health will benefit in the long run.
